Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'

Martin Luther King Jr.

Volunteers

Volunteerism is one of the most selfless acts that we can become involved in!

We have over 55 volunteers who deliver hot and frozen meals to members of our community who are at nutritional risk. Our volunteers also provide social support, security and wellness checks.

Put your compassion into action – become a volunteer!

Volunteers play a vital role in all of the services offered by Meals on Wheels Port Colborne.

If you would like to assist your neighbours, friends and people in your community, we would be delighted to have you join our volunteer team.

  • Deliveries are made Monday to Friday, over the noon hour.
  • Time commitments are flexible and can be arranged to accommodate your schedule.
  • Volunteers are offered training, and opportunities to attend service related workshops from time to time.
  • Drivers will receive an honorarium for mileage reimbursement.
  • Volunteers are recognized in a variety of ways throughout the year. Eg., poinsettias at Christmas, dinner gift cards, a sweet treat, etc.

Agency policy requires all volunteers to have references, and we may require a police check.

COVID UPDATE: As per the Chief Medical Officer of Health Vaccination Directive #6 our Board Policy states that all volunteers will need to be doubly vaccinated.
