Hot Meal Delivery

Frozen Meal Delivery

Delivered Monday through Friday between Noon and 1:10 p.m.
Meal consists of soup, main entrée, two vegetables & dessert
Set menu that rotates over a four week period
Special diets are available (e.g. Diabetic, Renal, Low Salt, Pureed, Minced)
Cost is currently $8.50 per meal combo (soup, entrée + dessert) or $6.00 for entrée only

Menu has 7 different entrée, dessert and soup choices each week and rotates over a 5 week period
Orders are placed on Wednesdays and delivered the following week
Cost is currently $8.00 for the entrée & dessert or $6.50 for the entrée alone. Ex

Food Preparation

Each meal generally consists of soup; 1 serving of meat, fish, poultry or alternate; 1 serving of potatoes, rice, or pasta; 2 servings of vegetables; and a dessert. Special diets (eg. diabetic, minced, low fat) are also provided.

Both Hot and Frozen Meals are provided by Gourmet at Home in Port Colborne.

Delivery

Food Preparation

Hot Meals are delivered during the noon hour by our friendly, caring volunteers. The actual time of each delivery varies with the position on the route, so we ask you to be ready between 11:50am and 1:00pm. We suggest that you have your table set so that you can enjoy the hot meal immediately. Remember to wrap and refrigerate portions which you may wish to eat later.

Frozen Meal Delivery on Thursday is generally between 10am and noon.

Your cost per hot meal is currently $8.50

This includes the soup, entrée and dessert.

Frozen entrées are $6.50.

A frozen entrée with dessert is $8.

Separately a frozen dessert is $2 and frozen soup is $2.75.

You can order as many, or as few, as you wish.

Payment

We are on a monthly billing system. You will be billed at the end of each month. Payment can be made by cheque or cash that can either be given to the driver or mailed to the office.

If paying by cash, please be sure to include the top portion of the bill with your payment and have the delivery volunteer initial and date the bottom portion and keep it as your receipt.

Arrangements can be made to have bills sent directly to family members or others who may be responsible for the bill payment.

Cancellations

If you wish to cancel a meal, please try to call the office as soon as possible. We do require notice for meal cancellations by 9:00 am the day prior to delivery to avoid your being billed for that meal. However, we realize that some situations arise unexpectedly and a last minute cancellation is unavoidable in the event of an emergency. You may leave a message on the answering machine if you call when the office is unoccupied.

If the meal delivery itself is cancelled due to inclement weather or other factors out of our control, the announcement will be made on the local radio station SPIRIT 91.7 FM. Every effort will be made to contact you personally in this event. Please keep in mind that we do not deliver on stat holidays (Christmas, New Years Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day or Remembrance Day).
